WHO IS WEE PAL?

Hi! I’m Jemma and I live in Edinburgh with my two Border Collies Ozzie & Iver.

WHY WEE PAL?

A woman wearing sunglasses and black clothes standing in front of a sign that reads "Diddly Squat Farm Shop" with two black and white border collie dogs on leashes. The setting is outdoors with a gravel path, green grass, and a partly cloudy blue sky.

We always knew we’d get a dog someday and when we did our big move from Aberdeen to Edinburgh we got our first dog Ozzie just a week later; and Iver one year after that. So I don’t really know what it’s like to live in Edinburgh without my dogs. My initial thoughts were WOW, I can really bring my dogs almost everywhere here, and not only that, we were always super welcomed!

Fast forward to me planning a dog-friendly trip down south, where I found that “dog friendly” hotels came with a myriad of limits and exceptions a lot of which are not at all clear on first glance. Our hotel was cancelled last minute in York and I really struggled to find a place that would take both boys and wouldn’t break the bank.

So I decided to combine my love for dogs, planning and living in Edinburgh. I wondered how I could amalgamate all of my local dog-friendly knowledge i’ve gained over the past 5 years and the research I had been doing on Edinburgh dog-friendly hotels somehow. I thought an interactive map of all the spots would work well so I set off to create the map, build the website and started up…
